hypocrite

ironic how my boss told me to better communicate with him on my whereabouts and yet no one has the slightest clue as to where he is today...studying for the gre? recovering from china jet lag? u know what? i don't fing care if you're a vp, you hypocrite! don't give me shit and expect me to follow your pointless rules and then do the same.

tibetan proverb i'm trying to incorporate into my life: let go or be dragged.

the shit we do for a paycheck.

i recently signed a warning notice about not properly entering in vacation hours (i forgot and not to mention it was never explained to me) and for not working a sufficient amount of hours. bs. i said how is me working out 2x during the day if there is nothing to do any different from the co-workers sitting on their asses 8 hrs straight facebook stalking and watching movies? Really. Someone please explain this. I always have my phone on me so if anything comes up from work, I'm immediately able to attend to the task.

What to Do

It is a very odd position - this having a lot of free time on my hands. In fact it feels like I have too much time on my hands. Not having a job and all. haha
I wonder what I'm supposed to do with myself.

I had an interview with a nonprofit organization today and well it didn't feel right.
I rescheduled an interview with a company that has gained reputable attention with Forbes.

I'm going home to Lacey for some time to earn some money until I find a job I really want.
Should be interesting...choosing what I want in life is a very difficult question.

fat kid moment

i just ate my feelings big time.
3 cupcakes consisting of a graham cracker crust, molten middle, super sugary frosting, one chocolate, one fruity...yeah, u get the picture.

it's funny. people's mentalities on sweets.
one co-worker said we should throw them away because no one needs the calories. can't argue with that. the same co-worker said she took one bite and said gross! not worth the calories.
another: no! i want to eat them!

but u know, i've been running every day 30 minutes straight and am loving it. been loving eating sweets in moderation too. it's funny how not having money restrains me from giving into my cravings. haha i had this bad habit of dropping everything when a craving kicked in and rushing to the grocery store to feed me soul. but it's self-destructive.

i went into work today adamant i wouldn't have anymore. cuz i had 3 yesterday. well that plan failed when my boss who i share an office with began quizzing me on which one was better and after too much talking on that one, i gave in.

and then i proceeded to let a friend drag me to a chinese buffet, that i had patronized 2 days prior mind you, where i indulged in more dessert: cookies, ice cream, sponge cake. and just when i thought i was done using food as a soul-soother. jeeze louise!! lol

as much as i wish i could eat whatever and whenever i want we know that it's not healthy. lol

harder to accept though than one would think.

anyway, i gave in at no cost...ha, to my pocketbook anyway. waistline, that's a different story. i've been so sad about my friend that i was falling for. more on that someday.

p.s. for a fun read on pop culture's definition of fat kid moment go here!

THIS WORLD SUCKS!! I NEED A NEW ONE.

Beware: Woe is me post.
There's no beating around the bush.
I'm heartbroken.
I'm watching "friends" throw their lives away on pot.
I'm sans money.
Makes for really good writing material at least.

Look on the brightside Kay, you're still drug, alcohol, & smoke free. And that's something to be proud of because, you know, as you see it RUINS life!

hatu

"Utah is exactly why so few Americans have passports. Why leave?"
-website comment, The Daily Telegraph

"Low-alcohol beer and an under-powered Korean car. Not the ideal ingredients for an all-American road trip. But as our man found by way of Route Six, there's more to Utah than Mormons and mountains."

Upon perusal of international articles for references to Utah Valley at work, I found these funny lines.

blessed

i feel blessed to have the next four days off. thurs. through sun. that i didn't request.
i need it. i so desperately need it.
i need to revive my soul. i need some influential soul-searching time.
to sew my life and soul back together.
i feel as though i'm in a swirling, never-ending cyclone where life is jetting past me, away from me.
time to calm this cluttered frenzy.
time to become one with myself, with life again.

some people SUCK

here i tell of customers who ... yeah ...

so this older husband wife duo comes up to the register and the wife asked, "is this paper a better deal at wal-mart?"
"i don't know," i said stoically.
she said in all seriousness, "you don't know the price of this paper at wal-mart?"
i said matter-of-factually, "sorry, i don't."

humph! she stammers, "well, you should!"
keep in mind, i don't show any expression.

then the repulsive husband chimes in, "are you always this cheerful at the end of the day?"
um, how is one supposed to respond to this question? who do people think they are?
i ignore the question and continue ringing the items thinking it will blow over cuz last i checked, strangers don't always reply to people's idiotic banter.

this smart-one repeats, "are you always this cheerful at the end of the day?"

i just smile.

he then proceeds to grab a card off my register and demands my name. i comply and when he asks for my last name i politely tell him i don't give out my last name. then he demands the store #. i should have said my name was sally or winifred.

i think [without wearing my emotions on my sleeve], wow these mother effing ppl need to get out of this store now.

so, because i didn't know the price of paper at wal-mart nor paid attention to a demeaning question about cheerfulness these ppl were pissed off.

pleasant people ... real pleasant.

motherly advice

it started with me saying i don't cook.

mom: yes, you do. you're a very good cook!

me: i guess i shouldn't say i don't cook cuz that implies i'm one of those woman who refuses to step foot in a kitchen, we've all met them.

i just mean that it's no fun to cook for myself so i haven't been. i need people to cook for, i say!

you will, she says. you will.

without me mentioning family, the convo segues to when you have children you can feed them the stuff you cook so they aren't those children who only want mac and cheese and pbjs cuz if that's all you feed them, that's all they'll want. but if they eat what you eat from a young age, they'll enjoy it!

hmm ... someday. someday.

Open for business

Now that I'm graduated, I want to do everything and anything!

Problem is, I need peeps to do stuff with. Where are you people?! I have friends, I do. Could use more though.

Availability just happens to be an issue for people.

Strangers say the funniest things

They sure do make me smile.

"I'm so glad I came over here from Office Max! You are so much cuter than the girl over there."

"What perfume are wearing?"
I'm not wearing any perfume.
"Well, you smell REALLY good."

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

it's one thing if you're cool and go barefoot in a store ...

... another if you're rude white trash!

"Why can't you give me my discount for recycling my ink now?"
Because corporate says so.
"Well, then I don't want this!"
Okay, have a good night. she didn't leave.
SHALISE! SHALISE! SHALISE! she belted in a whiny fashion for her daughter.
5 minutes later ... "Fine! I'll take it."

what i wanted to yell.
sa-curity! SA-CURITY!
this lady needs to GO! need to go!

are those your real lashes?

Too much attention from random strangers.

But, I love these things. $25 well spent.

1 crazy customer comin' right up

"I knew I should have listened to my spirit," he began.

Little did I know this hurried statement would not be the last one of an old man who had just lost his debit card.

"It was only in the seventies that I didn't listen to God. I drank too much and smoked too much pot and God told me to stop but I didn't listen."

That's nice, I thought, but why is this crazed older man lecturing me on the art of listening to God?

Without asking for my fortune the man continued. "I am a Levitical priest and God has sent me here to speak to you."

Oh boy, I thought another crazy customer has come my way.

Things got particularly odd when he began to give me life advice. "You need to go back to school, to get a masters in business or something. You're very smart but you have not finished school. Your mother and your mom's mother would be very proud of you and want you to go back to school."

Ok, I thought, not terrible advice, but who is this guy? And then he continued his prophesies.

"You are vain but it's a good thing because you will hold out for the right attractive man." "You're tough, but sweet."

Every now and then he'd throw in some Hebrew phrases. Wow, I thought. Is this man for real?

And then he told me he was an Israeli brought back from the dead to be a Levitical priest specifically sent to see me. He could have gone anywhere besides my store, he said. But he was sent to me. Weirdo!

He also told my co-worker he was sorry about the passing of his grandmother (who hadn't died, btw) and that he had a second child on the way (he's a newlywed with no children).

How can someone be delusional enough to pass on "revelations" to random strangers?
